Nadi Mahotsav
The first “River Festival” in 2008 brought together individuals, institutions, and government bodies to discuss rivers under the theme “Nadi Kinare Nadi Ki Baat” (Discussions About Rivers by the River Bank). Since then, five major and one mini festival have been held. Narmada Samagra has consistently championed recognizing rivers as living entities, advocating for their rights from source to confluence, gaining support from society and government.
Eco Friendly Idols Training (Aao Banaye Apne Hatho Apne Shri Ganesh)
The “Aao Banaye Apne Haathon Apne Shri Ganesh” workshops aim to promote eco-friendly practices by teaching participants to create clay idols using natural colors instead of POP and chemicals. These sessions have successfully trained over one lakh people, fostering both creativity and environmental responsibility.
Murti Visarjan (Immersing idols)
The tradition of idol immersion in rivers has been replaced with the use of dedicated ponds, promoting eco-friendly practices. This shift helps protect natural water bodies and reduces environmental harm.
Water Purification Coins
Water purification coins are innovative tools that purify water by releasing essential minerals and removing harmful impurities. Narmada Samagra developed such a coin and introduced it into the Narmada river.
Paryavaran Panchkosi Yatra (Journey on feet along the bank of river)
To involve school and college students, as well as the community, in river conservation, Narmada Samagra initiated the Paryavaran Panchkoshi Yatra. This initiative has greatly boosted student participation, with thousands walking along the Narmada’s banks and pledging to adopt environmentally conscious lifestyles.
Parvatpujan (Worshiping mountains)
Parvatpujan, or worshiping mountains, is a sacred tradition initiated by Narmada Samagra on Goverdhan Parvat Pujan day, following Diwali. The event aims to pledge protection for mountains while recognizing their spiritual and ecological importance, highlighting the deep connection between nature, spirituality, and environmental conservation.
Raksha Bandhan & Vrikshabandhan
Narmada Samagra celebrates Raksha Bandhan and Vrikshabandhan by promoting water conservation and tree protection through symbolic rakhis , pledges, and awareness activities, fostering a commitment to preserve nature and the Narmada River.
